Reality Check

So I tend to blog about the more traumatic things in my life airplanes, picture day, ect. but I wanted to re-visit the topic of illness and the distress it causes me.

Today is Day 4...
The point of this post is not the symptoms. People get sick. Mucus presents itself in fine fashion to many people. Flu season unleashes its wrath on hundreds of thousands of people every year... its the mental anguish that sets me apart from the others...

Point of mental anguish A.) I am still hungry when I'm sick. I feel like the one fringe benefit of being sick should be the automatic loss of 10lbs... Never has been the case for me... slightly unfair for the fattie.

Point of mental anguish B.) I'm on Season 2, episode 5 of Revenge which is only on Hulu+

Point of mental anguish C.) I'm so deprived of human interaction (being in solitary confinement) that I wanted to continue my chat with the check-out clerk at Smith's today, but also felt like I was infecting everyone with the black lung.
(* This is slightly dramatic because my roommate has been a champion at taking care of me even though she will probably catch whatever it is I have)

Point of mental anguish D.) For the past 4 days I have been living in a feverish dream world. Unfortunately my feverish dream-world self is more dynamic and charismatic than real-life me. For the past four days, I've been vacationing with an old flame, going to big conferences around the world, leaning in for stolen kisses, performing heroics to save family and friends, and even got into a dramatic tussle with my mom in the middle of a Lowes.

Here are some pics of previous happiness... a time I can remember being happy and interacting with other humans... maybe someday I'll be able to walk and breathe normal again...

  1. haha I wish my sick times were as interesting! I've had something forever too, which Jori picked up in Utah and passed on to us. It's mostly just a never-ending cough now though. Hope yours, since it sounds worse, will be shorter-lived!
