Sweet Home Alabama

Endless is the list of likenesses between Reece Witherspoon and I or more correctly Melanie Smooter and I. This fictional character in the movie Sweet Home Alabama and I bare an unlikely resemblance.

Okay, not in looks (alone), but also in life and experience. Lets get serious... I've never been married to a gorgeous man nor been lobbying for divorce in order to marry a mcdreamy doctor... but there are critical similarities between Melanie and I that are impossible to ignore.

FIRST, we are both designers who left our small town homes for "big cities" to further our careers. (If only the similarities stopped there).

No the main similarity lies in the hobby of our fathers. The key component that ties Melanie Smooters life to mine is the fact that both of our dads... (hers fictional/mine very very real) are reenactors.

I really have no further explanation, and lets be clear, I have NEVER participated.

Because of Melanie I'm reassured that despite the past or family tradition she was able to have:

and luckily that is EXACTLY what I'm looking for.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is... whether or not I've slept in a teepee... Melanie is my pillar of hope for a life of normalcy.
